The Enhanced In-Home Support Program (EIHSP) builds upon IHIP-C’s proven model with an expanded approach that blends therapeutic services and adventure-based counseling. Focused on keeping families together, EIHSP gives youth and parents the tools they need to overcome challenges, avoid out-of-home placement, and thrive side-by-side.
EIHSP pairs home-based clinical support with experiential outdoor counseling that helps youth build resilience, communication, and trust. Whether problem-solving on a hike or reflecting in nature, these experiences allow participants to practice coping and emotional regulation in real-world settings. This program serves youth facing complex trauma, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral health diagnoses that place them at risk for court involvement, out-of-home placement, or hospitalization.
By equipping both youth and caregivers with concrete tools, EIHSP interrupts cycles of crisis and defiance. Families learn to communicate effectively, de-escalate conflict, and stay connected through difficult moments. The program transforms risk into resilience, keeping children safely at home and giving families the skills to thrive together.
Services are provided over a span of six to twelve months through weekly visits lasting between thirty minutes and two hours, depending on the needs of the family. Services in the first 45 days tend to be more intensive.
