The In-Home Intervention Program for Children (IHIP-C) delivers expert behavioral health care directly in the home, helping children at risk of entering foster care, detention centers, or group homes stabilize, build resilience, and strengthen family bonds. By equipping parents and kids with the tools to succeed together, IHIP-C prevents family separation and creates lasting pathways to hope.
The In-Home Intervention Program for Children (IHIP-C) is a lifeline for families in crisis. Designed for children and adolescents experiencing serious emotional and behavioral challenges, IHIP-C delivers therapeutic support directly inside the home where family life happens, and where change is most possible.
These are often youth standing at a crossroads: struggling in school, coping with trauma, or showing early signs of behaviors that could lead to involvement with the juvenile justice system, detention centers, or group homes. Without intervention, many face out-of-home placement or long-term separation from their families.
IHIP-C steps in before that happens. A multidisciplinary team including but not limited to: family intervention specialists and case managers works side by side with parents and caregivers to stabilize crises, strengthen relationships, and build coping skills. The program keeps children in their homes, their classrooms, and their communities helping families learn to manage challenges together and restore a sense of safety, structure, and hope.
Services are provided over a span of 15 months in weekly visits (two to three times weekly) for one to two hours per visit, depending on the needs of the family. The first 45 days of the program are the most intensive. Once goals begin to be met, services become less intensive.
