Congressman David Trone was elected to the House of Representatives in November 2018 to serve the 6th District of Maryland, which includes all or part of Montgomery Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties. Congressman Trone serves on the Appropriations, Veterans’ Affairs, and Joint Economic Committees. In Congress, he is particularly engaged in the mental health and substance use disorder crises, criminal justice reform, and funding for medical research. To help combat the opioid and mental health crises, Congressman Trone founded and serves as the co-chair of the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force, alongside Democrat Annie Kuster and Republicans Brian Fitzpatrick and Jaime Herrera Beutler. Most recently, he served as co-chair of the Commission on Combating Synthetic Opioid Trafficking with Republican Senator Tom Cotton. Before coming to Congress, Congressman Trone founded and ran a successful business, which today employs over 12,000 team members in over 230 stores in over 27 states across the country.
